CNN Reports on Indoor Air Quality in Schools

One of the greatest aspects of being involved with GreenTech is having the opportunity to be a part of the solution. Over the weekend we watched a CNN news piece on the dismal state of indoor air quality in schools. According to the story, studies estimate that indoor air quality (IAQ) problems such as mold and dust are present in one-third of U.S. schools.

Children are developing illnesses, specifically asthma and other respiratory issues, at an increasing rate which has alarmed parents, teachers and citizens. If the situation weren’t devastating enough, countless school systems, along with most publicly-funded institutions, have experienced major budget cuts, leaving school officials concerned and searching for answers.

GreenTech air purification technologies could prove to be an impactful solution for some of these school districts. Though some buildings may not be salvagable, others may be revitalized with the help of remediation units such as the PortOzone. Systems with minor IAQ issues or those who wish to be address their IAQ proactively would benefit greatly from installing HVAC probes and/or stand-alone purifiers.
