GreenTech is Greener than Ever

GTE shipping carbon neutral via UPS

In an effort to move towards sustainability, GreenTech is now shipping carbon neutral via UPS. The next time you receive a UPS shipment from GreenTech, take a look at the shipping label; it will say "CARBON NEUTRAL SHIPMENT." This means that UPS will offset the carbon footprint of the shipment.

CNN Reports on Indoor Air Quality in Schools

One of the greatest aspects of being involved with GreenTech is having the opportunity to be a part of the solution. Over the weekend we watched a CNN news piece on the dismal state of indoor air quality in schools. According to the story, studies estimate that indoor air quality (IAQ) problems such as mold and dust are present in one-third of U.S. schools.

PHI Kills MRSA on Surfaces

A recent study found an air purification technology called Photohydroionization, or PHI, to be effective in killing microbes such as mold, viruses and bacteria. The study, conducted in several healthcare facilities in Kansas City, Kan., specifically addressed the effect of PHI on MRSA, the infamously resistant strain of staph bacteria. According to the findings, the PHI treatment resulted in greater than 90 percent reductions in microbes including MRSA.

pureWash Laundry System: Potential Solution to Microplastic Pollution

GTE's pureWash reduces fiber shedding in wash cycle.

Did you know your washing machine may be producing more than just clean clothes? A recently published study in the November Issue of Environmental Science & Technology suggests that your washing machine is likely the source of major environmental contamination. After researchers found high amounts of microplastics, or tiny particles of plastic (smaller than one nanometer), in water along the shores of eighteen countries’ coastlines, they determined washing machines may be the culprits.
